What are your favourite bra colors? Today, women not only wear bra to have supportive garment for their breasts but bras have become a fashion item in most cases. The wide range of styles, prints, and bra colors available in the market today are all testaments to this rage for intimate apparel exclusive only to woman and the woman at heart. Besides being fashionable, do the different bra strap colors really mean anything from the psychological point of view?

What Do The Different Bra Strap Colors Mean?

Women may not have the slightest inkling of what bra colors and strap colors mean, and whether the bra colors affect our mood and sensuality. Psychologically and mentally, colors can have profound effect our moods. This is a basic truth that many interior designers apply when choosing paint colors for residential and business establishments in order to create a mood. For instance, have you noticed why restaurants use warm colors all too often? This is to invigorate people’s appetite and, thus, to ordering more food.

The cool colors of the spectrum, between the blue and green hues, had been found to be soothing to the eyes. Mentally, it can represent calmness, tranquillity, unity, peace, truth, harmony, confidence, security, conservatism, order, water, sky, cleanliness, cold, and depression.

There are limited studies to show the correlation between bra colors and how it affects a woman’s mood, but if we infuse the concept of colors in affecting people’s moods into bra colors it could probably have the same effect.

The black color, conversely, is the absence of light and thus, of color. So what do black bra straps colors mean? In general, black represents sexuality, formality, power, sophistication, mystery, wealth, evil, fear, style, depth, anonymity, anger, and death. Of course, when it comes to colors of brassieres black remains one of the top favourites of women probably because of its subconscious effect on women’s mood.

The warm colors between red and orange hues, on the other hand, represent intensity, vigor, and energy. Red is the most intense and warmest color of the spectrum. When used in bra colors, it can create a fuller and heavier effect, and is an attention-getter. In color psychology, red stimulates faster heartbeats and breathing. When used in bra straps, red is effective at catching attention and is therefore used as an accent because of this facet.

White is the color that we see when all colors are infused into one beam. It symbolizes balance, purity, reverence, simplicity, humility, cleanliness, youth, innocence, and marriage. This same concept may be construed when using the color white for brassieres.

Increasing Number Of Bra Colors Options

Many of the brassieres sold today are convertible, that is, either they come with additional strap colors or have removable straps altogether allowing many women to experiment on bra straps colors. The list of Rendezvous bra colors (by Maidenform) includes black, neutral, and white. However, you may purchase special straps to use with your Rendezvous bra when wearing strapless or spaghetti-strapped clothing to prevent those ugly straps from becoming visible.

Aside from plain colors, bra colors are also available in animal prints but then again the dominating color produces more mood-affecting effects regardless of the type of animal print. Brassieres are now commonly regarded as fashion items. In fact, designer bras are priced more expensively than ordinary clothes that other women see as impractical. Nevertheless, bra colors can create a fashion statement and may reflect much about a woman’s personality or that which she’s trying to bare.

The next time you buy a pair of brassieres, consider not only the style but also the color according to the mood you want to evoke for yourself.
