Measure Bra Size

Measuring bra size is no rocket science. It involves only few concepts and few steps that women should follow in order to determine the size of their breast and the right size of bra to wear. In case you are wondering about the right fit for you that you opt to measure bra size, then note that in order to make this task successful, you’ll need to have interest and follow only the “right” steps directed. The word “right” is highlighted here knowing that there are some instructions available for measuring bra size that turn out not really effective. Well, what I have mentioned below in this article is something that will guarantee you the right sizes. Just follow these steps and get the exact sizes in no time flat.

The Initial Steps

To start getting the bra size measurement, take one of your best fitting bras and wear it. Choose the unpadded one though. If the bra leaves you with sagging breasts, adjust the strap by tightening it until your breasts lay half way between your elbow and shoulder. This, according to experts, is the right level or alignment for women’s breasts.

If you feel like you can’t measure bra size by yourself, try to get someone who is willing to take the measurements for you. To make the best results though, try to keep your posture natural and relaxed. Having someone measure the size of your bra is a great idea as what you’ll get from it is often more accurate.

Once everything is prepared, note that there are two major ways involved in measuring exact bra size. The first has something to do with measuring the size of the band, while the other deals with the size of the bra cup.

Getting The Band Size

To measure the band size of your bra, take a measuring tape and hold it firmly to measure the area around your bra, just under your bust. If you’re taking it by yourself, stand in front of the mirror to ensure that the tape is kept parallel to the floor. Note the position of the tape as it determines exactly the right size. A tape positioned too high will yield too large bra size, while the opposite result occurs if it is kept too low.

What inches or numbers you’ve got, always consider rounding it off. You can round it up or down, depending on what you prefer. If the rounded number is even, add four inches to it, and if odd appears, add five. The product of this addition is your band size.

Getting The Cup Size

Another correct way to measure bra size is through the cup. To start, stand in straight position. Place your arms at the side, and measure the size of the fullest part of your bust. While doing this, make sure that you’re wearing a bra. Proceed by wrapping the tape around you, but make sure that it is not binding, but only touching.

It is typical for most women to notice their breasts not of the same size. If this occurs to you, then consider placing a padding in the cup of your smaller breast in order to appear it even. This must be taken prior to measuring the size of your bra.

If the numbers are obtained, again consider rounding them off to the nearest inch. Do this step similar to that you’re using for the band size. After the rounding process, subtract the size of the band from what you have obtained from this measurement. The cup size is basically the difference. For instance, if your band size yields 38”, while the band is 34”, the subtraction should go like this: 38’ – 34” = 4” (cup size).

Just follow those steps to measure bra size, and while doing the basics it would be best to record the results you’ve got. This can be used to determine exactly how accurate the sizes would be.
